ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION

Latvian Dental Hygienists' Association (LZHA) was established on 30th of August, 1997.

Became a member of International Federation of Dental Hygienists (IFDH) since 2nd of August, 1998.

Initial logo of the Association was created to reflect an abreviation from the full name in latvian language – LATVIJAS ZOBU HIGIĒNISTU ASOCIĀCIJA – LZHA – together with the Morning Star, which has a deep meaning in latvian mithology.

CURRENTLY

Latvian Dental Hygienists Association unites nearly 300 members – qualified dental hygienists accross Latvia.

 Promotes dental hygiene profession by organizing further education seminars and conferences (CPD events).

Collaborates with similar professional organizations in Latvia and other countries.

 Takes responsibility of the qualification level for dental hygienists, by running certification and re-certification procedure in Latvia.

Organizes and supports various oral health education, promotion and awarding events.
